   He's one of our own, and this local boy who made good is helping many of his fellow Huntsvillians into the land of profitable investment portfolios through real estate. Born and raised in Huntsville, Russ Russell knows Huntsville and Madison County like only a true native can, and that familiarity is just the beginning of the tremendous set of qualifications he brings to his clients.    Russ opened his company in 1987, and for nearly 19 years he's offered his clients an impressive array of real estate services: the brokerage business, leasing, build-to-suit properties, tax-deferred exchanges, as well as the commercial and investment brokerage business. Russ has studied and prepared himself diligently, and in the process has made himself the best-qualified Realtor in our area. Russ is the only Realtor in the State of Alabama to hold the top two commercial Real Estate designations, the CCIM and SIOR designation from the Society of Industrial and Office REALTORS, as well as the top designation for Tax-Deferred Exchanges, the CEA (Certified Exchange Advisor). The CEA is a title conferred by the American Institute of Real Estate Exchangers. It is a mark of true mastery of section 1031 of the Internal Revenue Code. The provisions in that section allow individuals to pay no capital gains tax when they dispose of business and investment real estate.
   The CCIM (Certified Commercial Investment Member) is only conferred after a set of rigorous qualification standards are met. CCIM candidates must complete over 200 classroom hours, a graduate-level curriculum. They must document professional transactions and pass a comprehensive examination that takes an entire day. Fewer one percent of Realtors hold the coveted CCIM, and Russ was Huntsville's first.
   Russ's commitment to gaining total expertise in the field of real estate goes all the way back to his undergraduate years at the University of Alabama, where he earned a BSBA degree in Real Estate. A tiny minority of Realtors actually hold a degree in real estate...less than one percent.

ACHIEVES SIOR DESIGNATION FROM THE SOCIETY
OF INDUSTRIAL AND OFFICE REALTORS

(Huntsville, Alabama) - Russ Russell, CCIM, SIOR, CEA of (Russ Russell Commercial Real Estate) has achieved the SIOR Industrial designation (Specialist, Industrial and Office Real Estate) awarded by the Society of Industrial and Office REALTORS; an international association of professional commercial real estate brokers. The SIOR designation ceremony was held at the Society's 2002 Fall Professional Conference, in Vancouver, Canada.

To achieve the SIOR designation Russ Russell, CCIM, SIOR, CEA completed at least five years experience in the highly specialized field of industrial real estate; and demonstrated to the Society professional ability, competency, ethical conduct and personal integrity.

The Society of Industrial and Office REALTORS more than 2,200 Active Designees, Affiliates and Associates members, located throughout the U.S., Canada, Mexico and abroad, specialize in assisting the business and corporate communities assess and select industrial and office properties. The Society is a professional affiliate of the National Association of REALTORS.
